On April 13, 212 a tornado hit Friday afternoon. It had an eight mile path.  The storm took down power poles and uprooted trees.  The Tornado damaged many buildings and also caused injuries for residents in Norman.

Cleveland County was in a tornado watch.  Then the tornado was on Interstate 35 and W Lindsey Street. After that it went through the center of town.  It took off the roofs of buildings and part of a park in Norman.  Then it went to the northeast side of the city near Robinson and 12th.  Thousands of residents and businesses lost electricity.
A tornado warning issued at 3:59 p.m..  The tornado hit about three minutes later.  The first damage from this storm was at 4:07 p.m.
18 people were taken to the Regional Hospital.  The people had minor injuries. They had a lot of scrapes and bruises.
